White Ice is a dense Turkish marble sold specifically into the hardscape trade as the step up from ivory travertine. It is whiter, harder, and much less porous — under 1% absorption against travertine's 2–5% — so it stains far less readily and needs sealing less often.
Because it is dense and pale it stays remarkably cool, and a tumbled or brushed-and-chiseled finish gives it the wet traction a pool surround requires. The look is crisp and modern rather than rustic.
It costs roughly double ivory travertine per square foot. The argument for it is the twenty-year view: less sealing, fewer stains, and a white that does not yellow.
