Portuguese ivory limestone is finer-grained than the French crèmes and carries faint fossil flecking rather than obvious shell. In large formats it produces a very quiet, very pale floor with just enough texture to avoid reading as a manufactured surface.
It is the standard choice when a floor needs to run continuously from a living room out to a terrace: honed inside, brushed or sandblasted outside, same stone, same colour, different traction.
Like all pale limestone it wants sealing and it will take a patina in traffic lanes. In a house that gets used, that is a feature; in a showpiece, it is a problem.
